Half a million active players on Online Football Manager
The year 2011 has had a good start for GameBasics. The game Online Football Manager will be passing the landmark of half a million daily returning players this month. In 2010, 1.7 million players signed up for OFM, an absolute record.
OFM 2.0 will be launched this year. This technical transition has been worked on by three developers since last year. The new web version of OFM will be announced in spring of 2011. It’s not just the content of OFM that has been under continued development recently, daily progress is also made in the area of translation. The game is currently available in 21 languages, and these translations are continually improved upon, thus allowing players from all countries to manage their favourite team in their own language.
The co-founder of GameBasics, Frank Tijhuis, has stated that this is only the beginning. “In the coming year, existing markets will be developed further, and new markets and platforms will be opened. This will lead to a further increase in the amount of active players”, according to Tijhuis.
The goal of GameBasics is to increase the amount of active players to 650,000 in 2011.
